Our history

In 1978, John Gilmore started the Eugene Dojo, inspired by his training with Tohei Sensei in Japan.

Over the years, leadership evolved, with Terry Copperman assuming a pivotal role.

With dedication, the dojo grew and now has a permanent school, thanks to the support of its members.
